Introducing Madras Inspired Gift Wrap Sheets

This project has been in the making for over two years. As a designer, I have always appreciated beautifully printed items. Although I love to see a sleek, clean website or user interface, there is something about tactile design that does it for me. I've had many ideas throughout the years, stationery, greeting cards, t-shirts even, but nothing piqued my interest despite my love for physical goods. It wasn't until I rebranded a few years ago did I realize what was missing; my culture.
While rebranding, I had several concepts but ultimately decided on incorporating a madras inspired pattern into my logo. My signature madras has a coral base with bright, vibrant colors; yellow, green, turquoise, pink; incorporated throughout. I enjoyed creating this pattern so much that it kind of became my thing. In my free time, I would sit at my computer and create new color combinations for fun. This was around the holiday season and naturally, the idea of gift wrap came to mind. I envisioned Virgin Islands households filled with color-coordinated Christmas trees that matched madras wrapped gifts. I knew then that I was onto something.
