Logo / Brand Materials

Logo for a Afro Caribbean fashion and fabric company. For this logo I utilized Africa as the positive space and a moco jumbie cutout as the negative space. A moko jumbie is a stilts walker or dancer. "Moko" means healer in Central Africa and "jumbi", a West Indian term for a ghost or spirit that may have been derived from the Kongo language word zumbi. 

The jagged edges of Africa and the moco jumbie mimic the jagged edges of cut fabric. The colors chosen are representative of both Caribbean and African cultures seen the fabrics and fashion of CaribAfrique USA.
